Ten Years of Holiday Smiles
The annual holiday card campaign continues Delta Dental’s longstanding support for Tennessee children’s hospitals. Every year, an amount is pledged to the seven children’s hospitals across the state, with the funding directed in part based on public input. With this process, Tennesseans are invited to select the children’s hospital close to their home or their heart to receive additional dollars from Delta Dental.
Meet the Artists
2024
2023
Avery Lynch, age 14 in 2023
Avery Lynch was our 2023 artist as a patient at Vanderbilt Eye Institute patient-. In 2016, Avery was diagnosed with early-onset glaucoma, which is both rare and hard to detect. To prevent her vision loss from advancing, Avery takes two separate eye drops, twice a day. She has progressed from glasses to wearing contacts, a move that has allowed her to continue to play competitive volleyball.

2022
This year’s artwork featured a different type of artist. The card featured tiny toeprints collected by nurses from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit patients at Ayers Children's Medical Center in Jackson, Tennessee. In 2022, Ayers celebrated 30 years of helping NICU babies grow and thrive. We spoke to Breion Douglas Vincent, who shared the story of her son who was born at 28 weeks and spent nearly three months in the NICU at Ayers Children's Medical Center.
2021
Chase and Landon Graham
2021’s campaign featured two holiday cards, drawn by brothers Chase and Landon Graham. The Grahams, who live in Sumner County, are self-described “frequent fliers” at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt where Chase, receives continual care for immunodeficiency, a seizure disorder, and several other health care needs.

Drew Morrison, age 12 in 2019
This was Drew’s second time being the artist of our sponsored holiday card. He also created the 2015 card. When Drew was learning to walk, it was evident that something was not quite right with one of his legs. Drew became a patient of the Department of Orthopaedics and the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Today, no one would know that he ever had any difficulty walking.

Our artist in 2016 was Rocky, who was diagnosed with CRMO (chronic reoccurring multifocial osteomyelitis), a painful condition that causes bones to become inflamed, swollen and brittle. Rocky also has severe osteoporosis in his spine, which is treated at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
2015
Drew Morrison, age 8 in 2015
When Drew was learning to walk, it was evident something was not quite right with one of his legs. Drew became a patient of the Department of Orthopaedics and the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Not only did they help resolve the issue, he missed going to therapy when it was completed. Today, no one would know that he ever had any difficulty walking.
