Holiday Gifts for Children’s Hospital Patients
To help brighten the holidays for patients at The Children’s Hospital at TriStar Centennial, children will receive Kindle Fire tablets, cases, screen protectors, and Amazon gift cards through Louisiana Pacific’s annual toy drive. The gifts will offer comfort, entertainment, and a bit of joy for kids spending the season in the hospital.
Free Christmas Night Stay at Pinson Hospital Hospitality House
Guests staying at Pinson Hospital Hospitality House received a surprise for the holidays: 60 free nights of lodging on Christmas night. For families and caregivers traveling far from home for critical medical treatment, the gift offered comfort, relief, and one less worry during an already stressful time.
Hope Summit Contribution
In Memphis, attendees at a CityCURRENT breakfast were surprised with a contribution to support the upcoming Hope Summit, an initiative dedicated to uplifting local families through evidence-based hope-building efforts. The donation will help Agape Child & Family Services continue empowering parents and children to reach their goals and strengthen their futures. The moment added excitement ahead of the event, celebrating the work already underway to help Memphis grow as a true “City of Hope.”
Gift Wrapping Supplies for Nashville Children’s Alliance
Each year, Nashville Children’s Alliance collects gifts and essentials for children healing from severe trauma, helping them experience the holiday excitement and joy every child deserves. To support this year’s drive, NCA received a surprise delivery of wrapping supplies to add a festive touch to every gift. With everything needed to wrap, tag, and decorate presents, volunteers were able to make the experience even more meaningful and memorable for the children and families they serve. Our marketing team even made it over to help wrap gifts!
Koozie Surprise
When a couple shared how collecting koozies helped them find joy during tough times, we sent a box filled with Delta Dental swag! Of course, we sent along a few koozies to add to their growing collection.
Surprise Visits to Dental Clinics
A few dental clinics across Tennessee started their morning with an unexpected visit! We brought a delivery of breakfast and gifts. We were excited to be able to show our appreciation for the care they provide to their patients every day.
Filling the Book 'Em Bus
Children who visited the Book ‘Em Book Bus were greeted with freshly stocked shelves full of colorful new books. From picture books to early readers, the bus was filled with books for every age. The new books ensure more children can discover the excitement of reading, and take home stories they’ll treasure.
United Way Convening Donation Surprises
Nonprofits across middle Tennessee were entered to win a $1,000 donation when they attended a local United Way Convening. The Store, Red Cross, Nashville Diaper Connections, Diaper Free Dickson and High Hopes all walked away with donations.
Girl Scout Troop Pizza Parties
During the Girl Scout Summit Meeting, two lucky troops were surprised with a pizza party for their next meetings. The unexpected treat gave the girls a fun way to celebrate their teamwork and achievements.
Golf Tournament Donation
The winners of the Delta Dental & Friends Golf Tournament were in for a surprise when they learned that a $6,060 donation was being made in their names to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Celebrating our HR Heroes
In honor of HR Appreciation Day, professionals received a surprise celebrating their hard work and compassion. Each package included a T-shirt proudly stating “You can’t spell hero without HR,” along with a matching sticker to brighten their day. The gesture was a way to recognize the everyday heroes who keep workplaces running smoothly and support their teams with care.
Kicking off 60 Surprise Smiles
To kick off the year of “60 Moments of Surprise Smiles,” volunteers spent the afternoon at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, helping sort and pack food for families in need. During the visit, longtime volunteer coordinators received surprise gifts in recognition of their dedication and service.
